Tek4Him Client Support AreaHosting Support FAQ Topic #2 - Publishing Your WebsitePublishing Your Website using Microsoft PublisherSave your Web site as a .pub file If you want to use Publisher to update your Web site at a later time, you must save your Publisher Web site as a .pub file, regardless of the publishing method you use. Although you can use Publisher 2000 to generate your Web site as an HTML file, you can't open HTML files in Publisher. Therefore, the only way to update your site is to edit your .pub file and then republish it. File Transfer Protocol (FTP)(If you would rather use Front Page extensions, please see the Web Folder section below)If your ISP does not support FrontPage Server Extensions,
publish your files to the Internet or an intranet by using a transfer method
known as File Transfer Protocol, or FTP. To use this method, you must first add
an FTP site to your FTP Locations.
Once you've added the FTP site to your FTP Locations, you can publish your site to the Web using the FTP location, as described below. To publish your Web site to an FTP location:
Web FoldersYou can save it to a web folder, but make sure you go out to your administration suite first and install FrontPage extensions. If you do not want to mess with the FP extensions (they cause you not to be able to use the "Protect Directories", "Redirect URL's" or the stats), then there is an alternative FTP process above) To add a new Web folder to your current Web folders:
Your new Web folder appears in a list under Web Folders. To save files to the Web server, drag them along with any
supporting folders to the newly created Web folder, or use the following
procedure.
